Hello September!!


August started off with some pretty hot weather and our campus will continue to be on fire in terms of establishing a culture of excellence. Our theme this year is “Tiger Pride: There’s Strength in Every Stride” and we are focused on our P.A.C.E. at AMSA. Last month our scholars completed testing, we held a few assemblies, and we enjoyed games and fun at one of many Peter Piper Pizza Nights! What a way to start the school year!! We have no intentions of slowing down either. Be on the lookout for information on our next PAC Meeting, our first PTO Meeting and another event to have families on campus. I can’t think of anything better right now than being an AMSA Tiger… well, maybe cooler weather! Check out the rest of the newsletter with highlights and important information as we plan to have a Super September!!

The summer has ended (well not officially) and we are ready to welcome our Tiger scholars back on campus to pick up where we left off. Our teachers and staff have been preparing for the last few weeks to provide each of our scholars with the best education in the best environment. I can’t wait to see everyone on the first day of school on Thursday, August 3rd! Our campus motto for the 2023-24 school year is “Tiger Pride: There’s Strength in Every Stride!” This means that we are focused on continuing to work hard, improve and have fun! This school year will be our best yet!

I hope you are ready for 2023 and all that it has in store for AMS Avondale! We ended 2022 on a high note and we are going to continue with the same momentum! We have so much planned for the second half of the school year and January will kick things off with events, activities, and re-enrollment opportunities!

As we head into the month of December and close out 2022, our AMS Avondale scholars and staff are continuing to create a culture where not only are we learning and thriving, but we are having fun and getting back to the basics in education. Last month, we celebrated being thankful for many things and this month we are focused on creating memories and building a strong community on our campus.

Wow! We ended October on a high note! Thank you to everyone that participated in our 2nd Annual Fall Festival. Whether you volunteered to set up, provided a vendor booth for families to enjoy, decorated your trunk for our scholars and families to enjoy, purchased tickets or donated candy to make the event even ‘sweeter’—we want to thank you! It would not have been such a huge success without our wonderful staff and families! So now, let’s take the same energy into November as we continue to focus on instruction and being thankful. We are in the middle of our 2nd quarter of the school year and we have many reasons to be thankful and celebrate. With that in mind, I am thankful for the opportunity to lead this amazing group of staff and scholars. We really are doing great things here at AMS Avondale.
